What Americans think of climate change
Edited on Wed May-09-07 12:49 AM by Forkboy
The Environment and Energy Study Institute hosted a presentation of a series of national surveys, the latest one showing that 84% of Americans think human activity contributes to climate change. Dr. Jon Krosnick, Professor of Communication, Political Science, and Psychology at Stanford Univ., discusses his research.

Watch in Realplayer.

4. On the whole surveys are accurate
If surveys were wildly inaccurate, they would not be used.

More frequently the problem is not that people lie, but that their answers to questions are misinterpreted or misrepresented.

7. you are overly trusting
the client gets the true survey results,

everybody else gets BS, essentially what the client
wants people to believe.

I don't necessarily even believe
a survey was even taken, as a
survey costs money.

would be lots cheaper just to announce
'''results'''

3. "Give me an environmentally-friendly way to keep living the way I do, and I'm on-board."
Which makes sense. Most people want to hang on to the comfort of the status quo.
