IPCC report, global warming and Gore's movie
Anyone familiar with the IPCC report? Does it support the thesis of "An Inconvenient Truth," question it, or remain neutral? (I'm grading a paper and need some background info. Thanks.)

1. The IPCC report does not, of course, address Gore's film/book.
It addresses GW, and is QUITE firm about mankind's role in it, and how serious a threat it is. So it comes to the same conclusion as An Inconvenient Truth does. But AIT seems more hopeful. The stuff coming out of the IPCC is dire.

2. Well, see for yourself
The summaries for the latest reports from the IPCC working groups are freely available on-line here: http://www.ipcc.ch/

In the case of "Working Group I, The Physical Basis," the full report is now on-line.

In short, yes, they support the thesis in "An Inconvenient Truth."

3. IPCC findings coming out in parts- focusing on different aspects
Edited on Sun May-13-07 09:49 AM by philb
and the findings indicate consensus its a major problem coming on rapidly
waiting to react means more and bigger problems, and higher costs

the problems are already being seen:

more droughts and desertification
falling water tables, water shortages
stronger hurricanes and more damage
melting glaciers resulting in more runoff, higher sea levels, less water supply for millions
changes in growing seasons and movement of area that plant species do well in
etc.

5. I've seen three of your 14 posts this morning ...
... and I suspect that your IQ is even lower than your post count.

Bye.

6. LOL, I saw those posts last night. Definite neoluddite.
I thought about hitting the alert since the poster is an obvious troll or replying back with the usual links to disprove them. However, after reading several posts, I realized that they rebut themselves. Their obvious lack of knowledge about science and grammar demonstrate the intellectual level of most global warming deniers.
