Talking about changing your values to find joy in a smaller, simpler life...

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.

This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

4. touching, yet simple....

...I sometimes find it hard to provide a reason for the path that I'm on (or for any path for that matter). While I generally live my life by "feeding the good wolf", I don't always see it as good vs evil, rather just the way I know (and have been brought up) to live my life. It gets clouded sometimes though, and this little lesson is a beautiful reminder of the good in all of us. It is both empowering and humbling on a personal level, and such a straight-forward simple lesson that it should be repeated. Thank you for repeating it :o)
