Soong makes pact with Hu in Beijing
Edited on Fri May-13-05 10:51 AM by dArKeR
Chinese President Hu Jintao (???) and People First Party (PFP) Chairman James Soong (???) agreed to a six-point communique yesterday, in which they reiterated their belief in the so-called "1992 consensus" and opposition to Taiwan's independence, while hammering out the details of various proposals for cross-strait economic cooperation.

In the second meeting this month between a Taiwanese opposition leader and Hu in his capacity as Chinese Communist Party (CCP) chairman, Soong and Hu met for an hour yesterday in Beijing.

Speaking at a press conference held directly after the talks, the PFP announced the six points of the communique forged in the meeting.

1. Soong is NOT in the Taiwan government. He holds no post. It's like Rush Limbaugh going to Cuba and making a (half secret/half public) agreement with a foreign hostile government. He was voted party leader of a political group.

2. Soong is one of the KMT who invaded Formosa in 1949, butchered the Formosans and renamed the island Taiwan. I wonder if that's why he thinks Taiwan should be a part of China?

3. Why is China talking to one of the leaders who murdered more Chinese than the Japanese did? Wouldn't they try to arrest him?

3. Lien and Soong love China first
The recent visits to China by Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) Chairman Lien Chan (??) and People First Party (PFP) Chairman James Soong (???) have compelled Taiwan's politicians to show their true national identity, and provide an answer to why the KMT and the PFP have once gain joined together to obstruct the arms-procurement bill in the legislature.

President Chen Shui-bian (???) even said that Soong promised to support the passage of this crucial piece of national security legislation on the eve of his China visit. But on Tuesday, the PFP and the KMT once again jointly struck the arms-procurement bill -- along with a number of other bills proposed by the pan-green camp -- from the agenda. It is clear that as long as the pan-blues still enjoy a legislative majority, the chances that the bill will be passed are slim. Since both Lien and Soong see themselves as Chinese, how can they ever agree to allow Taiwan to purchase weapons to defend themselves against China's military aggression?

During last year's presidential election campaign, both Lien and Soong prostrated themselves and kissed the ground in an attempt to prove their love for Taiwan. In retrospect, their acts seem preposterous and hypocritical.
