When the terrorists hit the US from a loading dock housing
uninspected cargo, how long will it be before George W. Bush ignores years of calls for strengthening and tightening security at the ports and says:

"Nobody could forsee a terrorist hitting the US at a cargo dock?"

Despite that being raised in one of the debates he was involved in . . .

3. By the time he's impeached, there won't be anyone left alive in America
to elect his successor.

4. Oh, like in "Sum of All Fears"?
Well, that's just the movies. It doesn't count as foresight. It's all make-believe, just like the episode of "Lone Gunmen" that had a passenger plane flying into the World Trade Center (aired months before the real thing happened).

Aaargh. :grr:  :nuke:

5. We need to propose workable solutions
That has to be done overseas. If you are talking about reinforcing our intelligence networks and working closely and cooperation with other countries, then I am in agreement with you. And America's go-it-alone current attitude isn't helping us at all.

If you are talking about inspecting all the containers - it won't work. A nuke at a loading dock in NYC will be almost as bad as if it were trucked to the center of Manhattan. If you wait until it is at a US loading dock, you may have waited too late.

Also, it is impossible to inspect them all. What detail of inspection would you be talking about? Open all the containers? So now you are looking at a bunch of boxes - what is really in them? Open all the boxes? Is that really a DVD in the box in the corner, or is there a secret vial of anthrax inside the DVD? Open all the DVD, computers, dolls, etc. Get the idea of the size of the task?

The only solution is working with other countries to eliminate the terrorist networks.

6. It's a good thing that Valerie Plame is tracking
WMD's. Oh wait, never mind.
