A bold headline under a seal very similar to the US president's, flanked by two Stars and Stripes flags, reads: "Prostitutes Required" ... for the White House.
The newspaper advertisement, one of the first to be published since New Zealand decriminalised prostitution last month, has so riled the US Embassy that it has fired off a written complaint to the "White House" in question - a bordello on the main street of Auckland, New Zealand's biggest city.
"We believe that any likeness of a national government symbol in a commercial advertisement is in extremely poor taste," a US embassy spokesperson said.
"We are sending a letter to the advertiser that expresses our disappointment and displeasure about their choice of symbolism," she said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
The spokesperson declined to say whether the embassy would ask the brothel to change its name.
Brian Legros, the owner of the brothel, was unrepentant.
"They don't own the White House," he said. "They should get on with the affairs of their country and not worry about little old New Zealand," he said.
