A suspicious device that was discovered on the porch of a vacant house in Manchester was detonated Wednesday by State Police and determined to be non-hazardous.

The State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Bob Squad checked out the device, which had been found on the porch at 650 Johnny Cake Street in Manchester. Police later detonated the device.

Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity near the house on Tuesday night or Wednesday is asked to contact the Vermont State Police in Rutland at 773-9101.
