Suspicious Package at Giant Eagle Supermarket Turns Out To Be Cash Register

(KDKA) CHIPPEWA TWP. Officials have now given the all clear following some tense moments today at a Beaver County grocery store.

Beaver County officials say the Giant Eagle on Route 51 in Chippewa Township had to be evacuated after reports of a suspicious package.

But authorities say it was a false alarm.

According to officials, Giant Eagle had ordered a cash register that arrived earlier today in a box. The box then somehow got bumped and it started to make beeping sounds, authorities say.

sure what's in it or who it's from, I AUTOMATICALLY ASSUME IT'S A BOMB AND CALL THE COPS. 'Cause it couldn't possible be something I forgot I ordered, or some sort of promo junk from a supplier.......And we all know that the terra-ists put beepers in their bombs to clue everybody in......

And the Giant Eagle market in Chippewa Twp is such a high-value target...........
