Bush lied in Sept 14 Radio Address
"Today this regime likely maintains stockpiles of chemical and biological agents, and is improving and expanding facilities capable of producing chemical and biological weapons. Today Saddam Hussein has the scientists and infrastructure for a nuclear weapons program, and has illicitly sought to purchase the equipment needed to enrich uranium for a nuclear weapon. Should his regime acquire fissile material, it would be able to build a nuclear weapon within a year."

1. This is such a gem
that I took the liberty of reposting it inside a LBN thread about the Washington Post article by Walter Pincus and Mike Allen that debunks the Bush denials about him having nothing to do about the Niger uranium story in his State of the Union speech.

The repost of your thread is here:

The excellent article by Pincus and Allen, the new Woodward and Bernstein, is here:

2. He's talking about the aluminum tubes.
Note the next sentence "Should his regime acquire fissile material."

I went through all of his speeches and statements on Iraq during the warmongering phase. Only the State of the Union specifically says that Iraq was trying to get Uranium from abroad. He doesn't mention nukes after the SOTU and only mentions "equipment to produce" nukes prior to the SOTU

I posted a thread about it somewhere in GD a few days ago.
