Campus gang on killing spree - Nigeria

Lagos - Suspected cultists hacked to death five Nigerian university students who had set up a group to oppose their underground activities on campus, a police spokesperson told AFP on Friday.

Edo state police spokesperson Fatai Kinyomi said that 20 people had been arrested since Thursday's attack in the grounds of Ambrose Alli university, in Ekpoma town, southwestern Nigeria.

"Police have intensified surveillance and security on the university campus," he added.

Ambrose Alli university is one of a number of Nigerian universities and academic institutions that have become notorious for harbouring murderous secret cults.
