1. Yes...
Christopher Hitchens is a wet-brain alcoholic. Pay no attention to him. :D

5. Absolutely...
He is not easy to read ideologically. How he feels about an issue frequently depends on how many rounds he's had bought for him and by whom.

He referred to Bill Clinton as a psychopath on MSNBC Hardball show.

4. Hitchens and Paglia should get together
Edited on Wed Nov-05-03 02:21 PM by bemildred
and discuss their butt-covering strategy. Bill Bennett
could collaborate with them too.

Seriously, Hitchens has about as much credibility as
Jimmy Swaggart, he is a whore who bet wrong. I find
his soi-disant moral posturing particularly annoying.

6. Hitchens. My Friend
Proved so committed to the right in the attempted coup against President Clinton that nothing, not even his polemics against Kissinger, could conceivably save him. He is an unmitigated failure as a human being....

7. I think it's a load of junk...
where are those weapons of mass destruction now, Mr. Hitchens? What did we disarm him of?

And no, Saddam was too secular to have close relationships with the jihadists; just because they are both striking coalition forces doesn't mean that they're allied.

And the situation now is far different from the situation before the war; what may be an allaince of neccesity now what not neccesarily so before this travesty.

10. The man is an ass....
A stinking, drunken, failed, pathetic, back-stabbing, bigoted ass.

I shall not soil this thread with any more of my "thoughts" concerning this war-mongering pig.

Except to propose that he air-dropped into the most treacherous section of Tikrit, at night, unarmed, etc.

11. Hitchens has certainly raised the ire of the Magistrate
of which I am in total agreement..having never paid much regard to the man or his musings, I did however, enjoy a passage in Martin Amis's wonderful book "koba the dread" in which he referred to times that hitchens and others would sell copies of "socialist worker" on the streets of London..tickled my fancy that..
