22 seconds decide your fate - SA
Edited on Thu Nov-13-03 08:36 PM by dArKeR
Johannesburg - Despite stricter security measures at Johannesburg International Airport, customs officials have only 22 seconds to decide whether or not to stop and search a passenger once he or she has stepped off the plane.

This was one of the findings of Dr Anthony Minnaar, senior researcher at the Institute for Security Studies, who conducted research into security issues and border control at international airports and harbours in South Africa.

"An experienced and well-trained customs official can catch people suspected of smuggling drugs, arms or people in this way before they leave the airport.

Thoug you hear about one or two people getting caught smuggling via commerial airlines, I stick to my educated opinion: drugs, small arms... are brought in/out by customs agents, airport security, corrupt FBI/CIA agents who don't pass through normal inspections, military personnel who don't go through customs, larger companies who know the shipping industry and customs agents. I think cracking down on the individual is just a means to keep the profit in the hands of the larger players like Oliver North and Poindexter and Abrams and The Bush Crime Family...

How does a person who's done cocaine for 25 years become the leader of the United States?
