India to extend $40 mn to Tajikistan
Dushanbe, Nov. 14. (PTI): Injecting economic content to their relations, India today decided
to extend to Tajikistan a new package of economic assistance of $40 millions including a
$25 million line of credit and make a beginning to tap the vast hydro-electric potential of this
Central Asian Republic.

It was also decided to encourage joint ventures and investment in Tajikistan, a Joint
Declaration, issued after discussions between Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Tajik
President Enomali Rakhmanov, said.

2. India is not America
Oil is rather expensive there and people are always trying alternate fuel sources. Many vehicles there run on natural gas and a lot of trains use electricity. India is loaded with big dams (bad), small dams (good), and windmills(good). not to mention the extensive use of dried manure (good) animal labor(good) and human labor(very bad).

3. I was mainly interested in the appearance
that India is feeling its oats foreign-policy wise.
It's gaze seems to be turning outwards and it seems less
fixated on Pakistan. One supposes that the latter is because
the contest there is no longer anything like an even one.
