Namibian election results delayed - again
By Petros Kuteeue

Windhoek - Partial results in Namibia's general elections showed the ruling Swapo party heading for an easy win on Friday, but a major opposition party called the whole poll flawed because of unexpected delays to results.

Results from the two-day poll were originally expected by Thursday morning, but by Friday evening results from less than one third of the number of registered voters were known, and they, as expected, put President Sam Nujoma's Swapo well ahead.

The opposition Congress of Democrats (CoD), which was tipped to become the official parliamentary opposition after the election, said the delays had undermined the poll's credibility.
