Turkey invaded, yes, but to protect a persecuted population of Turks that Greek Cypriots were driving out of their homes.

3. True. This is definitely not a one sided issue.
Both sides were responsible for the escalation of fighting there.

4. This is some bloggers photojournal.
It's not government sponsered, though that doesn't seem to matter in this country, but I digress.

Turkey should leave. It's not their land. It is not recognized by anyone. They are occupiers.

5. They are not occupiers.
They are defending the Turkish Cypriot population, which has every bit as much right to exist as the Greek Cypriot population. Turkey stepped in to protect Turkish Cypriots after a fascist military coup in Greece. Greek Cypriots were fired up to attempt ethnic cleansing. Turkey stopped that. Greece is the baddy here, and a good leftist should realise that.

8. I'll happily admit I'm biased
but no more or less than the OP, and there are two sides to this unfortunate story.

2. Thanks for the photos
Interestingly, Freedom House says, I think, that the Occupied Cyprus side has more civil and political freedom than the Greek side.
