2. You missed this one too..
When the burglar got inside the home near 83rd Avenue and Cactus, police said he started to move toward Kallas who had gotten his gun.

"He seemed to do everything right," said Peoria Police Spokesperson Mike Tellef. "He told the man to stop a couple times and when he didn't, he (Kallas) defended himself."

7. Yet another example of one who SHOULD have been armed. Thanks.
All my friends know to call before coming to my home. I answer every unexpected knock at the door armed.

I do not need it every time, in fact I have yet to actually "need" it. It is the one time however, that I remain vigilant.

Again, thanks

15. No such place exists.
I live in one of the nicest areas in the state I live in yet, I take no chances. If you want an education on perceived safety vs. reality, google crime in Great Falls, Virginia.

Never assume you "live in a safe area". Crime is everywhere. Most of the time, you don't even know that crime is occuring all around you but if it rears it's ugly head, please be prepared.

17. I don't answer the door armed
I live in the city and use the peephole. I know two people who live in the country, with families, who do answer the door armed. It's more common than you think. If you roll up the drive in an unfamiliar vehicle expect to have a scoped rifle trained on you. These are very friendly, decent people who value their privacy and security.
I use the peephole, and if someone I don't know is at the door at odd hours I will retrieve a weapon before opening the door.
Like the man says "phone first".

14. I always answer the door armed.
Just because I do, doesn't mean the person at the door knows I have a firearm on me. The lives of my family mean everything to me. Should someone come to the door with the intention of causing harm, I will defend my family to the best of my ability. I choose to be armed at the door so any potential conflict remains right there and doesn't enter my home where my children could be harmed.

18. Nice murder story
A couple of human beings are shot and murdered for wearing a hoodie.

And let me point out that both the victims, (the dead guys), were found outside the house. One body was on the porch and the other body was in the street.

That leads me to conclude that the victims were not in the house when they were gunned down by Rambo.

Yet again, the gun nuts got away with it.

because they active promote the freedom of speech protected by the First Amendment.

Also, the opponents of the Bush Administration repeated violations of the Fourth Amendment are terrrorist sympathizers.

In addition- the video in the link you provided gives no motive for the shootings.

You should provide a source that *does* back up what you say, or you should be having
a chat with the Philadelphia PD sharing your knowledege of this case.

I have no idea how you get to child pornography when we're talking about murdered people, but I'll try to respond.

"You should provide a source that *does* back up what you say, or you should be having
a chat with the Philadelphia PD sharing your knowledege of this case."

I said of the two victims that one was found on the porch and the other was found in the street, that's exactly what the reporter in the link said.

Did you even read what I wrote in my first post in this thread?

21. Talk about some inflammatory wording. Not even a hint of impartiality there.
"A couple of human beings are shot and murdered for wearing a hoodie."

First the police on the scene believe it to be a case of self defense so the term "murdered" is completely out of context hyperbole. Second they were not shot for wearing a "hoodie". If you had read the article you would know these things.

"And let me point out that both the victims, (the dead guys), were found outside the house. One body was on the porch and the other body was in the street."
"That leads me to conclude that the victims were not in the house when they were gunned down by Rambo."

Again trying to control the words we use: The "victim" is the guy that was defending himself. (Had he not done so he would be the one dead and you'd be crying about how this is an example of why we need more gun control.) The two dead guys are the perps. Yes they were found outside the house. You are assuming many things that are unreported and jumping to a wild conclusion that the police refute. You obviously know very little about the dynamics of a gun fight or firearm injuries. People do not just drop instantly after being shot. It is very possible for a person shot to still posses the capability of doing great harm. That is why people that bother to learn how to use a gun are taught to keep shooting (center mass) until the threat is gone.

Incidentally, why would you inflame this debate with that last statement?

22. There is not enough information to say.
That leads me to conclude that the victims were not in the house when they were gunned down by Rambo.

Unlike the movies where people get shot and die where they stand, it is in fact quite common for people (and other animals) to get shot and run some distance before dying from shock and blood loss.

It is quite possible that the people were shot inside the house but died leaving the scene. I've heard of numerous cases where a perpetrator is shot and found later far from the scene. Sometimes even alive.

Amazing how someone of so few words manages to bugger them up so consistently.
