Top Official Apologizes For 911 Center Errors
Source: WTMJ-TV and JSOnline.com

Madison- Dane County's top official says a better response to a 911 call from a college student before she was murdered still could not have saved her life. County Executive Kathleen Falk apologized at a news conference for numerous errors employees made responding to the April 2 call from Brittany Zimmermann's cell phone. "I concluded that an apology was appropriate for the errors committed in our 911 center and that the county owed not only the Zimmerman family, but also Brittany’s fiancé an apology,” Falk said. But she says she does not believe the University of Wisconsin-Madison student's murder could have been prevented.

1. Sounds like the dispatcher didn't have his heart in his job to do what was required.
Mediocrity doesn't have a place in a life-saving field; the dispatcher, who didn't want to bother himself by following up, should be fired. That's the only chance that he'll learn something from his mistakes.

2. I believe it was a female dispatcher.
Originally the 911 center said they didn't have anything to apologize for. Funny how the prospect of being sued for millions of dollars changes peoples minds.

3. If that was her first reaction, then she should be fired, too.
Thanks for the correction, David. I started to type "his/her" but it looked too busy. :)
