"Research finding a drop in violent crime rates from Right-to-carry laws"
John Lott has an interesting list of studies which he says show a deterrent effect due to concealed carry laws here: http://johnrlott.tripod.com/postsbyday/RTCResearch.html .

I've just skimmed the list, but I thought others here might be interested in reading these studies.

I know John Lott figures large in the demonology of many who favor unconstitutional gun control, I know about Mary Rosh (sp), and I rarely cite Lott's work. Nevertheless, much of the work linked to is not authored by Lott. There may be a growing scientific consensus that CCW deters crime, despite Kleck's well-know (former?) position.

Additionally, Lott links to guncite for research that leans the other way (or is neutral).

6. It wasn't on purpose, but that is precious!
That illustration at the beginning of the page is priceless, haha "Finkle is Einhorn, Einhorn is Finkle!"

hahahahahaaha, I can't stop laughing "even if I am not wearing heels" what the fuck! that guy has a hell of a sense of humor, but I'm guessing he's single still, for some reason. And the site is named exactly as I phrased it, one in a million.

Thank you iverglas, you just made my day.

What a loon, even if he may be more or less accurate about some things. Like the article linked and named "John Lott thinks terrorists should be able to buy .50 caliber sniper rifles", yes he may say some awfully funny things when he's being a transvestite (or would he be a transsexual, since he isn't neccessarily dressing up as a woman, just pretending he is one) but that article actually looks like he is right. If 35 out of 3.1 million firearms purchases were by people on a "terraism watch list" I have a hard time seeing that as a huge problem. Especially with how dubious those watch lists can be. I really don't think Cat Stevens is a terraist, yet he made it onto the no-fly list. So it looks like his thought process is pretty sound much of the time, except when the moon fills out and he becomes :Gasp!: Mary Rosh!

7. Whatever; still waiting for a credible study that shows that right-to-carry increases crime
Sound of crickets chirping.

8. There's the real unicorn
And no one will ever be able to find a legitimate study that finds that, because they don't exist.

9. Sourcing Lott...........yer kidding right?
The demonology of Lott isn’t confined to just those who favor gun control, but is known to exist among those who favor things like integrity and at least a good faith efforts towards quality in research.
Not sure of your remark regarding Kleck but on page 372 of Kleck’s book “Targeting Guns” even he dismisses Lott’s conclusions in his largely discredited “More Guns Less Crime” stating; "more likely the declines in crime coinciding with relaxation of carry laws were largely attributable to other factors not controlled for in the Lott Mustard analysis."
