What do you get when you combine a Taser with a shotgun shell? Something you really, really don't want to get hit with. The new Taser XREP is a tiny wireless Taser that can be fired from a standard issue 12 gauge, taking down perps from up to 100 feet away. And hey, if you're worried that there's just no way that they can cram all the pants-pooping power of a full Taser into a bullet, don't sweat it!

:spank: :scared: :scared: :wow:

3. Nice!
I like Tasers for police work. They are of limited use for home defense. Even though I'm certified on the thing I don't use one at home because the incapacity is temporary. I wonder how much each shotgun round costs? This would be a great alternative to knee knockers.

4. I'd like to look a bit outside the box...
maybe it's not anything, but what/how will the "criminal component" exploit this new tool? Ambush potential is a concern for me.,

Just a thought.

5. Don't worrry.
Taser packs their cartridges with chaff that identifies each round. If you come up to a crime scene with this chaff, you can contact Taser and they'll tell you who bought the round. I'm sure the shotgun slugs will be the same way. Even the publicly-available Tasers use this technology. If a criminal wants to do an "ambush" they'll just use 00 buck or a .40.

6. Excellent!
So, it looks like the upgrade has a future.

Oh, I also heard that they, Taser, have a new border like or barrier Taser set-up in boxes or cubes where it can fire off multi-cartridges at a time when a sensor is triggered. Can be used to set-up a secure perimeter inside or outside. Inside, like in a Jail. Do you know anything about that?
