Thank goodness we are now permitted to have "the shoulder things that go up".

2. Well, I'm thankful too for its expiration, but I'm still voting for Obama.

Who will hopefully will never sign the AWB reauthorization into law.

9. I will be refraining...
from a presidential vote this year until I hear specificly how Obama will NOT renew or support a new AWB.

I also am purchasing several more of those evil black rifle varieties for my collection as a hedge.

3. Now that Obama makes it clear that he will not ban rifles, shotguns, & handguns, he just might
clarify whether that means he now opposes reinstating the Assault Weapons Ban, see H.R. 1022, or he supports it.

IMO he will be pressured by some reporter or questioner to take a public stand of opposition or support for AWB.

If he has not clarified his position by election day, IMO some of the 54+ million gun-owners will interpret his inaction as continuing his support for banning assault weapons.

4. Yep, and it took us, at least 13 years to recover from the losses.
We incurred just two months, after that legislation was signed into law..

Good Riddance...Bad Law...

8. Given enough time
it probably still won't work that way. The local dealer I use has told me a couple of times that AR's are flying off their shelves. Most of the guys I know who have several rifles usually have an AR stashed in there somewhere. That will probably be even more common as smaller police departments adopt the AR.

10. My local dealers...
are selling AR's very quickly. They say it has become the most popular centerfire rifle in the shop. Surplus bolt actions are also popular considering their very low prices. Base AR carbine models start at $699. I have several different models on lay away to add to my collection I and pick them up as funds allow. I will have about 10 by the first of the year. :) I worry that this will end up being an investment of high value as opposed to being simply a precaution.

12. If anyone is stupid enough to actually pass another "ban",
you will have made a great investment.

"Pre-ban" rifles and Chinese-made weapons are selling at over 300% of their original aimpor prices, and going up.

Norinco (Chinese-made) SKS rifles, for example, once sold for under $80.
They are now selling for over $300, depending on condition. They are not "assault rifles" by definition, but they were banned anyway.
I have only 2 - wish now I had bought a case or so.
