Doyle May Increase Gun Background Check Fee - ( by 300%)
http://www.todaystmj4.com/news/local/40638742.html

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Handguns would get more expensive in Wisconsin under Gov. Jim Doyle's budget proposal.

The Democratic governor's spending plan would increase background check fees from $8 to $30, a move that could affect tens of thousands of gun buyers. Republicans pounced on the idea. Rep. Scott Suder, R-Abbotsford, branded it "outrageous."

Doyle's budget director, Dave Schmiedicke, said the increase would help offset shortfalls in the background check program and other law enforcement programs funded through offender surcharges.

HELLO?

Seems to me that if the "offender surcharges" aren't enough to cover that program's budget, then they need to raise the "offender surcharges".

Also, I did not know some states (such as Wisconsin) did background checks in lue of Federal checks. Here in Texas you go through NICS no matter what type of firearm you buy.

1. Do they ask you to swear you aren't selling the gun to a Mexican drug cartel?

4. Yeah, though not in those words.
The standard background check form--at least the one for a long gun in New York State--requires you to swear that you're not going to transfer the gun to someone not capable of legally owning it.

2. Offender surcharges should be paid by offenders
Not by innocent citizens exercising their civil rights.

3. After Heller the gun-grabber strategy is clear, make exercising RKBA costly & irritating; e.g. tax
ammunition, require serial numbers on bullets, destroy spent military brass, increase CCW fees, tag gunpowder.

Apparently the strident, very small group of gun-grabbers within our party's highest echelons are determined to lose control of congress again.

:puke:
