Gunman Shot to Death During Home Invasion (Warning:Disturbing story)
A home invasion turns deadly after one of the robbers is shot by the homeowner.

snip

Police say the men forced Nicholson inside, and Minnard held Nicholson and 25 year old Lincoya Stephens at gunpoint upstairs while Thomas searched the downstairs area of the home.

Police say Stephens grabbed the shotgun to try and disarm Minnard, but Stephens was hit in the leg by a shotgun blast.

Police say Stephens and Nicholson still managed to get the gun away from Minnard.

Officers say Stephens then pulled a pistol that was concealed in his waistband and shot and killed Minnard.

Fortunate the home owner shot the 22 year old or we would have another child victim of gun violence. I'm sorry was that callous.

I'm glad the innocent parties are going to be ok.

4. B-b-b-but you can never prevail when the criminal has the drop on you!

But victims can never prevail when the criminals have the drop on them!

Detectives say Thomas told them he and Minnard went to the home to commit a drug-related robbery.

No drugs were found in the residence.

Yet another drug-fueled crime.

Perhaps it's time to do something about gangs and archaic drug laws in this country?

5. One strange thing...
"Officers say Stephens then pulled a pistol that was concealed in his waistband and shot and killed Minnard."

How many people you know walk around 24/7 with a pistol in their waistband unless they are expecting trouble? Like expecting someone to break in for drugs?

6. Who knows?
Could be he was a CCW permit holder on his way out of the house. Could be he heard the ruckus and grabbed it but couldn't use it until then.

10. How many CCW holders you know that shove a pistol into their waistband?

I know of no CCW holders (or responsible gun owners in general) who shove a pistol into their waitband "gangsta style".

I am not saying it is impossible but maybe their is something more to the story.

Drug Dealer A tries to rob Drug Dealer B.
Drug Dealer B shoots A.
Drug Dealer B hides/removes drugs before cops arrive.

Maybe? Or maybe I am just a suspicious person.

On the other hand it could have just been a poor choice of words by the Officer. Maybe he was meaning to say drew from a concealed holster but that isn't what he said.

11. I'm just saying they didn't find anything at the home.
Of course the guy could be Pablo Escobar, it will all get sorted out either way.

12. Although the article makes no mention of a holster
that doesn't mean there wasn't one. I don't know many CCW holders who do not carry their pistol in an IWB holster.

9. So he planned a crime where he was shot with a shotgun?
