1. I guess you'd have everyone break the law, rather than just 5
And we'd have had 25 or more being wounded - with some probably dead.

Let's pour some gasoline on that fire. That'll put it out.

2. Ahhh yes....
some more wonderfully ignorant, counter intuitive, straw men arguments from baldguy. You never did find any of those facts to back yourself up, did you?

3. To quote Dirty Harry
There's nothing wrong with shooting as long as the right people are getting shot.

6. does Harry speak for Clint?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clint_Eastwood
Eastwood has been registered as a Republican since 1951 and openly supported Richard Nixon's 1968 and 1972 presidential campaigns. He usually describes himself as a libertarian in interviews.

C'mon, surely it's time for a little Heinlein.

10. Damn
I mentioned a fictional character. In your fantasy world, you should be able to relate.

7. Basing public policy on the yammerings of a fictional character
Who happens to be a borderline psychopath with an itchy trigger finger. We tried that already, remember?

Twice

8. Then there is basing public policy on fictional yammerings..
that has proven effective...

4. Once again

It is proven that "gun-free zones" are ineffective against criminals, unless security checkpoints are created.
Airports are effective "gun-free zones" because there have controlled entrances, armed security, and search procedures.
Universities are only "gun-free" if people decide to follow the policy. There is no effective way to enforce the policy, if you are unwilling to strictly control access (which most universities are not willing to do).

If you want to have a "gun-free zone," do it right. Otherwise, let people who can legally carry decide for themselves.

5. Bingo!
Having "gun-free zones" without effectively enforcing them is probably the worst of both worlds, and the most dangerous way of dealing with the situation.
