For those who think "pro-gun Democrat" is a contradiction in terms...
...I will ask a question. What individual presided over the state with the most liberal gun laws in the country; received a perfect rating from the NRA, as well as their endorsement, no less than eight times; and openly opposes any new federal gun laws?

Howard Dean, former governor of Vermont.

2. One correction...
Dean still supports a new semi-auto ban, but I think the Kerry camp might have pushed him into doing this in 2003. Overall, he believes the states should handle their own gun laws. And his support for that gun ban could weaken over time.

3. What a hypocrite...
Here is Kerry, with HIS SEMI AUTO 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN...Which, in truth, is a much more fearsome and powerful weapon than just about any semi-auto AR or AK type small caliber rifle

But hey, with it's wooden stocks, and archaic pistol grip, it does not scare people.

7. "the most lax" is not the term..
"nonexistent" is the right one. They don't want to hear it because that very fact, annihilates every argument they have.
