i'm in the police academy and we are discussing the crime of carrying concealed w/o a permit

instructor is a former bigwig with my agency, now hired as a contractor for instructing this and some other classes.

iow, he was a cop in hawaii for over 2 decades and is an instructor

he's going on and on about this stuff and i ask a simple question "what does a permit LOOK LIKE?"

he looks quizzical for a second, and says "i don't know, i've never seen one"

a day or two later, he returns with a voided CCW blank and shows it to the class.

in his entire career, he had never SEEN a CCW permit

THAT's how rare they are in hawaii

I cannot understand this "randomness" argument. Once a place has been burglarized, broken-in to, and invaded, it is likely another attack will be committed on the same place, especially if there are no visible changes in "home defense."

If your home is burglarized, then you better make SOME kind of obvious change in home defense; otherwise, the punks will be back.
