Another way to stay safe while
at home or away. No one wants to have to shoot a criminal or take a chance with a gun fight and no one wants crooks breaking in while you are away and stealing all of you expensive guns. You can turn this on while you are away and make them think you are home, or leave it on in another room and make them think you are awake. Only about $30 with $5 for shipping.

http://faketv.com/

FakeTV is a burglar deterrent that recreates the light of real HDTV television. FakeTV's super-bright LEDs fill a room with light in thousands of possible shades of color. FakeTV simulates scene changes, fades, swells, and and on-screen motion. From outside, it looks just like someone is home watching TV.

Most burglars will not break into an occupied house. Why risk prison? So when a prowler sees that flickering glow that means someone is home watching TV, he knows to move on to an easier target. When you are away, FakeTV says "alive" far more than a lamp on a timer ever could. Buy a FakeTV and make your home an unappealing choice for a break-in.

stay safe

1. LOL...cool idea, I just leave the TV on.
:D

Not always, really...but a 4 dollar string of LED christmas tree lights will give the same effect.
Just make sure the curtains are closed.

4. Hey, then I'm really safe.
no family, few friends and no business associates. The number one reason for being shot is love triangles. I never monkey with anyones monkey, so I won't get monkeyed up.

5. Actually, that's completely a myth.
The odds of being shot by family or friends is extremely low.

The largest single relationship? 'Unknown'. Second? 'acquaintance' (not family, not friend, etc)

9. Over 50% of murder victims are involved in criminal enterprises.
Remember that Mafia members, gang members, know each other. Drug dealers know both their supplier, customers, and competitors. Prostitures know their johns and their pimps. Loan sharks know their customers, as do bookies. When all of those are included, it becomes true that you are mostly likely to be murdered by someone you know.

Domestic violence murders always have predictors, usually a long history of violence.

When you subtract out the criminals killing other criminals, and history-of-violence murders, you are left with ordinary people. For ordinary people strangers are the greatest murder threat.

The idea that a member of a happy family will suddenly snap and grab a gun and kill in a moment of anger is a myth. If they have such weak control of their anger, they will grab a kitchen knife if a gun isn't handy.

12. Close in one category

'Business associates' like Chicago in the old days, they were Bugs Moran, Dion O'Banion and Al Capone, now they are just as likely to be named Dewonne, Sharicus or Earnesto. But still squabbling over turf and who gets to sell which illicit commodity to folks who rationalize 'their use' as a victimless crime. Their recreational spending funds vicious criminal enterprises, which they refuse to acknowledge. Prohibition was such a resounding success in the Twenties....and it's working even better now!

3. In other words, it the same as watching Fox without the cable bill.
My dopey brother-in-law would try to watch it, though.
