American gun owners are fueling Mexican drug violence REALLY?!
Edited on Thu Jun-24-10 05:03 PM by virginia mountainman
Well this news piece, complete with many pics, and videos, will shoot that to hell...

At camp, the soldiers found 13 trucks, three rocket-propelled grenades, two rifles Barret .50 (with a range of two kilometers and capable of penetrating armor), 60 grenades and 230 weapons that included; AR-15, AK-47 (cuernos de chivo) and hanguns. Also located were cartridge belts and uniforms with the insignia of Los Zetas.

This criminal group which emerged from elite military deserters is one of the most violent of the country, which originally served as the armed wing of the powerful drug cartel of the Gulf (CDG), for which they conducted executions of rival gang members and also against police and military forces.

Interesting, elite military deserters....I wonder where "elite military" soldiers would have access to military grade hardware from?? According to some in here, and in power, ONLY AN AMERICAN GUN SHOW...

I have yet to see a SINGLE live granade at a gun show, much less cases of them..

I have never seen an RPG rocket launcher at a gun show, yet here they are in abundance, along with rockets....

These are available at American gun shows?!?! If so, WHERE... I wonder, how will clamping down on American gun owners, in the name of Mexican violence, will stop the flow of these military weapons in Mexico?? After all, those weapons are practically non-extant in US civilian hands.

http://www.borderlandbeat.com/2010/05/military-finds-zeta-narco-camp-in-nl.html

To my fellow Democrats, don't believe the hype, on the "American guns fuel Mexican violence" it just is not true. Mexico is almost a failed state, with rampant corruption, it is a simple matter for groups of solders to go AWOL with their weapons.

Attacking gun owners in the name of Mexican violance, will blow up in our faces come election time.

1. I'm a member of the KKK, and those fell off of my pickup
between the gun show and the Klan rally. I remember a group of Mexican gang members following me, but I had no idea I was helping them. I only support white criminals, usually.

whispering: I'm actually black, but the Klan leaders don't know. They think I'm just super gung ho, since I always insist on attending in full regalia. It's amazing what a little makeup around the eyes can do, LOL. I remember Eddie Murphy doing a skit about the wonders of makeup on SNL once...

2. These same firearms may make their way north of the border ...
to the drug gangs in the U.S.

Things could go downhill rapidly in our country. We could become North Mexico.

Disclaimer: I am not opposed to immigration from Mexico or other countries and have lived in neighborhoods with a large concentration of people from Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Columbia and El Salvador. I became friends with many of these neighbors and found them to be hard working, good people.

I favor a rational immigration policy and I hope that sometime in the near future we will be able to create one. Our country is a nation of immigrants and they have made us the great nation that we are.

The demand for illegal drugs in our nation is largely the fault of our failed war on drugs. In my opinion, we should legalize many currently illegal drugs. In a Utopian society people would not use alcohol or drugs but in the real world prohibition not only does not work but creates a dangerous criminal element to supply the outlawed items.

5. I bet those Military grade weapons came from further south
like from when Reagan was funneling money and Military weapons to central America.

???????????????????????

this is the most plausible... I have YET to see that type of hardware at ANY Gun show.

21. Some of it, quite possible.
But some of that crap is probably just getting to Mexico from overseas shipments very recently.

Plus a good chunk is getting stolen or sold by the Mexican military, which our government is handing them even today.

I have posted that cartoon a half a dozen times myself. Just because some folks don't like it, doesn't make it untrue.

Look at how many incredulous posts we get about how "people on the no-fly list are allowed to buy guns."

What started out as lousy Republican idea to evade the Bill of Rights (the TERRAH watch list) is touted here by some as the greatest thing since concentration camps if used against gun-owners.

I guess George Orwell really was right, some pigs ARE more equal than others.

Go figure

23.  Some are American built
Then sold/given to the Mexican government, which issues it to the Mexican Army. The Mexican Army issues it to the Troops, some of the Troops of the Mexican Army desert, the former Troops of the Mexican Army who desert take their issue weapons with them ( including a few that were not issued to them)and go to work for the Drug Lords. When the Mexican Army/Police make a raid on the Drug Lords the weapons of the former Mexican Army Troops who deserters with their weapons that were issued to them and were supplied by the Mexican Government who were given them by the US Government are found.

Simple.

24. Here is the thing. When the undocumented come across they break into homes..
Then they steal guns from the home owners. That contributes to the statistic too. There is a simple way to prevent this from happening.

Most of that stuff is already prohibited for civilians in Mexican firearm laws...

What gives? I thought more laws was the solution?
