Accidental loss of gun could lead to charges!
You have to love this story. No doubt some CCW idiot who left his gun in a store. Think what could of happened to this gun is the store had not found it? The more CC we have the more shit like this that will happen.

2. I can remember two or 3 stories in the past year where an officer forgot thier gun.

4. Cops always get off on stuff you and I would be charged with.
And without video you almost never see them get punished.

5. There's an exclamation point at the end of this sentence!

Recommended for commentary to avoid pointless propaganda.

7. What is wrong with this sentence?
> ... the gun apparently broke away from the clip that was holding it when he bent over.

Broke away from the "clip"? Was it held onto him by safety pins or something?

9. that's what I was thinking
You could carry that beast in your pocket and most people that saw the clip would think it was a knife

10. That would do it.
I forgot things like that are available.

That would not be my first choice in carry weapons, but better than nothing...

11. It does make for some ugly looks.
One of my co-workers carries one of those little Kel-Tecs. It is funny when the conversation gets around to concealed carry guns and some one eventually waxes eloquent on the their double stack, optically sighted, light rail tacti-cool, custom built wonder gun.

My buddy says, "Golly, gee, I'd sure like to see something that magnificent."

Whereupon the guy invariably says, "Wait a minute while I get it from my car."

My buddy wordlessly plunks his little Kel-Tec on the counter.

Guy always asks, "What's with that silly little pop gun?"

"That's what keeps you from ever getting to your car!"

It really doesn't matter what you have, if you don't have it with you when you need it. So a .380 in your pocket might not be much, but it's more effective than the .357 that gets left at home as too cumbersome.

12. I have no problem whatever
with charging the guy. It was criminally irresponsible.

It's a firearm fer cryin out loud. You don't leave it sitting someplace without being sttoned, drunk or stupid, or perhaps all three. There just is no excuse at all for what the guy did.

I only with the cops who do this a lot more frequently than private citizens were held to the same standard. Oh, well, can't have that. After all, we're just subjects, we don't rate equal treatment under the law.
