(San Francisco) Police: Transient killed boy with his own rifle
(07-19) 18:07 PDT SAN FRANCISCO --

A San Francisco transient was charged today in the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy who police believe had invited the suspect home possibly to sell a rifle, authorities said Monday.

William Huertas was fatally shot with that rifle on the evening of June 12 while his mother and his stepfather were upstairs in their Turk Street residence, authorities said. On Friday, police arrested Robert Griffin, 18, on suspicion of robbery, burglary and homicide.

Police said surveillance video from the development where the boy lived shows him bringing Griffin to his residence.

Huertas' family said the teenager had a sport rifle and police theorized that he was trying to sell it or show it off when he was killed.
