Noncriminal gun ownership in this country is overwhelmingly nonviolent, as you well know.

FWIW, I went to the range yesterday for the first time in a while, and made holes in paper and severed paper fibers, just like tens of millions of others do all the time. All told, we go through around ten billion rounds a year without incident.

Failure to distinguish between responsible ownership/use vs. "gun violence" is a big part of why your side of the argument is in the shape it's in. That broad brush runs out of paint after a while.
