2. Now, there's a suitable use for a firearm.
I have zero tolerance for loose dogs that menace people. Zero. If someone shoots one, I say hurrah!

I think your alternative headline is better than the article's original headline.

How about this one:
Man Shoots Dog In Front Of Children

19. so you want to just take all those domesticated dogs
and dump them in the wild?

If you really had compassion on them you'd just kill them first

Bans generally have grandfather clauses.

(edit to change tense)

(edit 2: I wouldn't really ban pets, but I would consider livestock)

23. My mind went there because I used to work waaaaay out in the sticks
and I've seen too many people that felt it was a good idea to release "Fido" to his "roots". and I found waaaay too many starving "Fidos" and too many carcases where "Fido" met the local coyotes.

21. Dogs And People Aren't Treated The Same Under The Law
A dog won't get charged with murder if it attacks and kills someone. The dog will likely be euthanized, and it won't get the benefit of higher court appeals.

Because dogs are treated different under the law, the use of force statutes against a dog aren't the same as the use of force statutes against a person.
