A Madison County man was messing with a handgun at his home overnight and his teenage friend ended up dead, authorities said.

Brandon Landis, 17, was shot in the head and died outside 25 4th St. in the village of Plumwood, Madison County Sheriff Jim Sabin said.

Deputies arrested Landis's friend and roommate, 22-year-old Mack D. Thomas. He has been charged with reckless homicide, a third-degree felony, and is being held at the Tri-County Jail in Mechanicsburg.

Sabin said a woman who also lived at the house called 911 just before 2 a.m. Deputies arrived to find Landis dead and Thomas on the run.

1. Brandon Landis just lost ALL of his genuine Constitutional rights.
And a charge of reckless homicide against his roommate is his consolation prize, and that of his family.
