Man upset with fireworks, charged with firing gun
http://www.midhudsonnews.com/News/2011/July/06/Cortese_arr-06Jul11.html

YONKERS – Police in Yonkers have arrested a local man for firing a gun into the air after being upset over neighbors shooting off fireworks late in the evening of July 4th.

A woman living at 19 Croydon Road told police that she and other female friends were setting off fireworks when Paul Cortese, 34, of the same address, argued with them, then allegedly pushed several of the women to the ground and pulled a gun from his waist, pointed it at them. He then fired one shot into the air.

All of the women fled and the man returned to his residence, where police located him. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, menacing and assault.

1. Hey, if he didn't like robbery in the streets, would he set off a car bomb to protest?
One of the problems with 4th of July and New Years fireworks is that there are idiots who shoot off guns into the air for their "fireworks." How is shooting off the gun a "protest"?

2. Pointing a firearm at someone is assault with a deadly weapon.
I'm thinking he won't be owning any firearms for a while. NYC isn't very generous when it comes to that.
