Oklahoma pharmacist has been sentenced to life in prison for bad shoot....
Edited on Mon Jul-11-11 11:38 AM by Logical
This person gives "self defense" a bad name. He shot a unarmed, unconscious man 5 times in the stomach after retrieving a 2nd gun. What an idiot. Glad he got a long sentence.
The initial shoot was 100% valid. The follow up shoot was 100% murder.
But there are many groups defending what he did. Unbelievable.
I am pro-ccw and pro self defense, but no doubt this was murder.

==================

An Oklahoma pharmacist has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole for first-degree murder in the shooting death of a teenager who tried to rob the south Oklahoma City pharmacy where he worked.

Fifty-nine-year-old Jerome Ersland was sentenced Monday after Oklahoma County District Judge Ray Elliott rejected a defense motion to suspend the sentence.

Ersland had no reaction and said nothing as the sentence was handed down. As he left the courtroom, he responded to a reporter's shouted question by calling the sentence "An injustice of a monumental proportion."

A jury convicted Ersland and recommended the life with the possibility of parole sentence for the may 2009 shooting of 16-year-old Antwun Parker.

Defense Attorney Irven Box said the conviction and sentence will be appealed.

2. There is no right to shoot unconscious former threats.
Throw the book at this guy. As rights supporters, we have to strongly oppose these abuses. The caricatures of the antis must remain caricatures.

16. Can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs, amirite?
Down with the fascist insects! Study Lenin-Stalin-Mao thought for the betterment of the soldier-student-worker-peasant class!

(is the 'sarcasm' tag really necessary?)....

7. Good idea, but the current prison pharmacist probably likes having a job
(Assuming there actually is a pharmacist for the prison - I certainly hope so.) But this shooter can certainly assist...

11. A friend of mine turned down a fed prison pharmacist job last year
and instead went to work at WM...he was worried about passing the physical aspects every year. After 5 years or something like that his student loans would have been paid off not a bad deal if you ask me.

He just bought a new 400k home closed on it last month so either way he's not doing bad. LOL

5. what a mockery of justice. The guy should have gotten a medal.

He shot an armed, psychotic criminal trying to rob and kill him, and HE gets convicted? The justice system is a fraud.

God bless our almighty and holy guns!

9. Hey, there are gunners here who support shooting unarmed teenagers leaving scene of a car break in.

Why do you think some gunners would not support shooting an incapacitated criminal -- by playing judge, jury, Jesus and executioner?

C'mon, Hoyt. You've got to pop your "provides verifiable evidence" cherry sometime.

Why not now?

20. Here's a thread and there are plenty more. Maybe you wouldn't shoot unarmed kid, but others would.

And they'd brag about it and probably buy themselves another gun to reward themselves.

provis99 is no pro-RKBA poster.

If the only place you see your 'extremism' is in the mocking posts of those on your side, perhaps you should re-evaluate your position.

12. The jury should have known their rights as jurors....to judge law and accused.
Edited on Mon Jul-11-11 12:19 PM by ileus
If they'd have judged the law instead in this case he'd been a free man today.

I suppose the old saying "Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6." didn't pan out this time.
