Driver almost loses head in Hollywood road rage case

HOLLYWOOD -- A case of road rage almost proved fatal early Monday when one driver whacked another driver with a machete, police said.

Witnesses said a Mercedes-Benz and a SUV-type vehicle were northbound. They said the Mercedes pulled ahead and kept braking as if to cause the SUV to rear-end it. The vehicles turned west on Sheridan and began traveling side-by-side with both drivers haranguing each other.

Both vehicles pulled off Sheridan Street when they reached the 1200 block and both drivers exited and exchanged words.

At this point, police said the driver of the Mercedes, Scholneger, opened his trunk and pulled the machete, then swung it hitting the driver of the SUV, Pape, on the neck.

The guy was driving an evil assault vehicle. He deserves to die.
