An RKBA Victory in Wisconsin
"A 23-year-old man was in custody Saturday in connection with the shooting of a 14-year-old Hartford boy.
According to a news release from Hartford police, the suspect arrived home from a local bar and encountered three to five people near the parking lot of his apartment complex.
Police said the suspect apparently pulled a small caliber handgun from his pocket and shot the victim in the back of the head."

Perhaps he was listening to rhetoric like this:

"It’s time that Wisconsin follows the lead of the other 45 states that have realized the unconstitutionality of these antiquated laws and have enacted provisions to allow their citizens to carry concealed handguns.
Wisconsin took a major step in righting this wrong with the recent 6-1 decision of the Wisconsin Supreme Court which ruled that the Right to Keep and Bear Arms Constitutional Amendment makes it "unreasonable and unconstitutional" for the state to prohibit the carry of a concealed weapon in certain instances.
Wisconsin will recognize the right of self-defense because it is a right founded in the law of nature, and is not, nor can be, superseded by any law of society — not even the United States Constitution. "

"On November 16, 1995, Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson signed a law repealing local gun control ordinances across the state, and allowing firearms to be carried openly in public.
Thompson responded, "You don't see people roaming the streets, openly waving their guns and creating mayhem ... You don't need to legislate common sense. You can trust people." "

"We feel that it's an insult to the citizens of Wisconsin to be one of only six states that prohibits anyone other than police officers from carrying concealed weapons. We are working closely with state Senator David Zien and state Representative Scott Gunderson, the authors of Wisconsin's proposed CCW legislation, to help get the concealed carry bill passed in the 2003 legislative session.

1. There isn't enough info there...
...to know if the 23 year old was the agressor or a defendant.

3. "You don't need to legislate common sense"
Heh heh heh...nice one! Very funny!

That's why there's so many meritless personal injury lawsuits around, the Darwin awards and gun accidents.

The trouble is that there will always be complete arseholes who haven't got a clue what they're doing, and who will spoil it for the rest of us. That's the essence of the RKBA debate - idiots with guns will always sour things for responsible owners. Responsible owners will have restrictions forced upon them due to the behaviour of others.

It's not just or fair, but as far as I can tell it's the way it's got to go, because you can generally only spot irresponsibility after a tragic event.
