EU ministers ditch sensitive Israel report
EU foreign ministers have shelved a confidential and critical report on the Israeli Jerusalem policy due to its highly sensitive nature.

The report was prepared by diplomats in East Jerusalem as part of Britain's EU presidency but leaked to the press last month.

It slammed rapid Israeli expansion of Jewish settlements in and around east Jerusalem, saying, "Israeli activities in Jerusalem are in violation of both its road map obligations and international law."

Israel is making it increasingly harder for Palestinians to travel between East Jerusalem and the West Bank, the report pointed out.

"Israel's main motivation ... is almost certainly demographic - to reduce the Palestinian population of Jerusalem, while exerting efforts to boost the number of Jewish Israelis living in the city", the report stated.

4. Apartheid
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apartheid

The separation wall is a physical sign of apartheid - specifically designed to keep Palestinians out of Israel.

Part of South Africa's apartheid system was based on citizenship rights - blacks were excluded from citizenship rights as are Palestinians and Arabs:

5. Well, this is certainly a shock.
Spineless expediency from the EU?
And after they were so upstanding and moral about "extraordinary rendition".
(Don't you just love that, not "secret torture rooms", just "extraordinary rendition".)
They must be taking notes from the Bushites.

11. The UN is very good at spineless expediency too.
You don't get to be a high-level politician or bureaucrat without a highly tuned sense of where your own self-interest lies.
