Anyone have info on how Syria might play out as Peace Broker?
(I posted this in "GD Forum" and didn't get much response...anyone here have some more insight?)

I don't know much about Syria and it's loyalties. It doesn't seem to have much sympathy towards Lebanon or Hezbollah. Would Syria ally itself with Saudi Arabia over Iran to broker peace between Lebanon and Israel? Which terrorist group is Syria most comfortable with?

Anyone have any info?

1. Syria is avoiding to get invaded
they fully sponsor the Hezbollah but don't make a fuss about it. Syria is waiting for the US to get off Iraq so they can breathe. Syria cannot play a role as a peace broker since they are part of the problem and is already allied to Iran. They are playing the shiite card and that can cost them dearly. Syria is afraid of an international force in Lebanon and is against it.

2. Not a chance
- Lebanon believes that Syria assassinated Hariri
- Syria left Lebanon grudgingly at best
- Israel believes that Syria supples arms and money to Hezbollah
- Syria claims (with UN Support) land that Lebanon says belongs to it

3. Was Syria "put up to the jobl"
with Harriri assassination. After all look what happened in "supposedly tranquil GB with David Kelly when he was going to "spill beans" and his connection to Judith Miller of NYT's that he wrote a book with about "Chem/Bio Warfare."

Lots of "threads" to explore with "connections, connections, connections."

But, HEY...I don't want to do it...don't want my cat killed and some plastered remains on my doorknob to investigate it.."

I'm cool ...just tune in CNN/MSNBC and it's "Campbell's Soup!" Good for YOU!
