BEIRUT, Lebanon - An Israeli missile slammed into a house in a Lebanese border village early Thursday, killing a family of three, and airstrikes across the country’s south wounded at least six people, Lebanese security officials said.

Clashes between Hezbollah guerrillas and Israeli ground troops have raged in Taibeh and across south Lebanon for several days. Hezbollah announced on Thursday the death of four of fighters, but did not say when they were killed. That raises to 50 the number of guerrillas confirmed dead since fighting began.

Hezbollah said in a statement that its militants fired tens of rockets” Thursday afternoon at two Israeli military bases in Syria’s Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. The statement said one of the bases housed Israeli artillery and the other stored armored vehicles.
The group also said it had foiled three attempts by Israeli troops to press deeper into Lebanon, and that its guerrillas destroyed two enemy tanks.
