14-Year-Old Nasrallah Recounts Ordeal During Baalbeck Commando Operation
israeli "intelligence"

---------------------------------

Nasrallah is a bad surname to have in Lebanon, as Israel tries to break Hizbullah.
Fourteen-year-old Mohammed Hassan Nasrallah found out the hard way when Israeli airborne commandos seized his father and four other men in eastern Lebanon, even
though they are unrelated to Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

<snip>

"They started shouting, they took us out one after the other and tied our hands behind our backs," he told an Agence France Presse correspondent in the Bekaa Valley.

<snip>

"About a dozen soldiers broke into the house. They put the women and children on one side without tying them up. They placed the men on the other side. I was with the men," Mohammed said.

Israel said 200 elite commando troops carried out the operation, the deepest ground incursion into Lebanon since the Jewish state launched its offensive on Lebanon on July 12 when Hizbullah captured two soldiers to secure a prisoner swap.

"They were shouting and mistreating us. My mother interfered and told them to have pity on the children and treat us nicely," Mohammed said.

But one of the Israelis responded: "Shut up or I will kill you," according to Mohammed, who said the serviceman also "fired shots over her head."

Mohammed was taken with his father Hassan Diab, 60, his brother Bilal, 28, the fiance of his sister Hassan al-Borgi, as well as neighbors Ahmad al-Awta, 60, and Mohammed Shakar, 50.

<snip>

When the shots ceased around 6:00 am, Mohammed left the hideout and rushed to his uncle's house in Baalbeck. He found his mother, Um Bilal, who now only has one hope: that the International Committee for the Red Cross can give her news of her husband's whereabouts.(AFP) (Photo released by Israeli Defense Forces shows special forces during a raid in Baalbeck)

1. Adjusting the Heroic Commando Raid Story

Adjusting the Heroic Commando Raid Story

"...And in the delightful early hours of sunlight (between 7am and 8am approx.), when some people are already on the highways, they presented us with a new and spicy twist, by taking out 4 major bridges on the highway between Beirut and Batroun (North Lebanon): Ghazir bridge in Jounieh, Madfoun bridge in Batroun (Yes, the one that gives us access to our -now oil-slicked- little seashore haven), Casino bridge in Jounieh/Maameltein, and Fedar bridge in Jbeil.

We are way past the argument of whether this or that is an actual Hizbollah target or not. Israel is showing once again that this is a war on a nation and its worthless insect inhabitants. The stench of racism, spite, and outrage has long ago surpassed the infamous oil slick. Practically, the country is now severed into little blocks, south and north as well now, making access between families, friends, supplies, and aid restricted, dangerous and at times impossible. The world allowed it to do so in Palestine, why would it stop it in Lebanon?

Today I want to share with you a few facts about the heroic Israeli commando operation in Baalbeck from 2 nights ago. I wonder how many people in Israel and the world are exposed to this information.

About the Israeli commando operation on Baalbeck where 5 members of the Hezbollah were captured:

    1. The parachutists landed on a hospital: Dar el Hekmat.

    2. The glorious battle of the elite soldiers provoked 17 dead among which eight children.

    3. The five people who were captured are ordinary civilians living in a house near by. Two of them, a father and his son, are called Nasrallah and have no relation whatsoever with the Hezbollah leader. Nasrallah is a common name not only in Lebanon, but in the Middle East. Such as Youssri Nasrallah, famous Egyptian filmmaker and Christian (please forgive this distinction, Youssri my friend, it's for the good cause) well known in the French film world). It's very possible that they would have been Hezbollah sympathizers, as are more than one million people in Lebanon, but they are not on the staff of Hezbollah.

    4. Inside the car that rushed out of the hospital area and that was chased and filmed by the Israelis were a man and his wife, eight-months pregnant. The first rocket hit the back of the car. The two passengers leave the car screaming for help. The helicopter makes a U-turn and shoots again. The man manages to escape, the woman doesn't. A little bit later, the neighbors rush to the car and find her dead, with an exploded belly and the fetus projected outside.

3. All the heroic stories have taken some dings.
There was the Iranian-sponsored hospital which, curiously, had no relation to Hezbollah or the Iranians and which had been evacuated of all medical staff and patients, and which had a new sign up the day after the mini-battle showing hours it was open. The hospital contained nobody, which consisted of some Hezbollah folk and guards, and, oddly, the nobody that were in the hospital also included the "terrorists" taken from a nearby village according the various reports. Only unarmed civilians were in the area, and that's especially including the Hezb men that mounted the lead-based resistance.

A second group of commandos were called in to rescue the first group from a nearby village; the first group was pinned down by gunfire for the entire time there, even after they secured the patient-rid hospital, and Hezb forced the Israelis to tape themselves going through filing cabinets.

Seriously, both rah-rah narratives would make good works of fiction.

Any word on how common Shelhoub is as a Lebanese name?

4. I don't understand?
These accounts are Lebanese accounts? These accounts are cited?

I don't know about whether Shelhoub is a common name in Lebanon so I am not too sure what you mean here, but I'll assume it is some ref to Mohamad Shelhoub, the interviewee from the first posting -- my posting is from a Lebanese journalist.

But while were on the subject -- censored IDF report

Do 'good Hebrew boys' really resent going on these 'purification' runs?

Why are these Jews censored so much -- I think we should accept your challenge and make sure the racial and religious superiority of BOTH sides be given full airing so that the public can better make up it's mind as to what kind of people these are that would burn and crush children alive. On Both SIDES...

Any word on how common Goldstein is as a Israeli name?

    Here lies the saint, Dr. Baruch Kappel Goldstein, blessed be the memory of the righteous and holy man, may the Lord avenge his blood, who devoted his soul to the Jews, Jewish religion and Jewish land. His hands are innocent and his heart is pure. He was killed as a martyr of God on the 14th of Adar, Purim, in the year 5754 (1994).

2. This is horrific and belongs in the GA forum IMO
"Shut up or I will kill you," according to Mohammed, who said the serviceman also "fired shots over her head."

This is what we sponsor? :(
