strange eh?

Israeli Knesset passes law to revoke citizenship of 'unpatriotic' Israelis

<snip>

The new law, passed despite a recommendation against it by the Israeli Attorney General, allows for the deportation and revocation of citizenship of Israelis for a wide range of offenses, including "visiting enemy nations" and "encouraging terror against Israel", with the latter being so open to interpretation that many Palestinians with Israeli citizenship fear that simply being Palestinian will be reason enough for Israeli officials to revoke their citizenship. The Israeli Attorney General called the law, "a drastic and extreme move that harms civil liberties." He also stated that the new law violates international law.

6. That law would contradict the Law of Return.
Let's say you're Jewish without a doubt (e.g., bloodlines, your mother was Jewish, etc.) and you immigrate to Israel. But you have issues with the government at hand which in turn makes you suspect as not very Jewish and/or Israeli, and you end up losing your citizenship for freedom of speech, freedom of association, and/or the right to dissent.

Buried in the PATRIOT Act II is a similar provision to revoke citizenship for those of us who are deemed a "threat to the country" which translates into whoever is in charge of our government.

The developments in Israel will be worth watching.

8. It's interesting to note the many ways Israel is trying to remove Arabs from Israel
AND the occupied territories.

I'd love nothing better than to see an Israeli supporter to acknowledge this white elephant, minus the typical excuses.

9. Locking per I/P guidelines
This does not appear to be from a reputable source as this story has NOT been corroborated anywhere else by mainstream media including those which would have stated something.
