Israel Plans More West Bank Settlements
http://feeds.bignewsnetwork.com/?sid=eb0e1f3415ae96b9

Big News Network.com Friday 3rd October, 2003

Ignoring the road map peace plan, Israel issued plans Thursday for about 600 more homes in West Bank settlements, CNN reported.

The Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz advertised government tenders for building housing units in three West Bank settlements, which called for 530 housing units in the Beitar Ilit settlement, 24 units in the settlement of Ariel and 50 units in the settlement of Maale Adumim.

The move came one day after the Israeli Cabinet approved a plan to build the next segment of a controversial security wall Israel says will keep terrorists out of the country.

Can we say the roadmap is dead !! :bounce: Anybody want a house!

Perhaps Arafat should have continued working toward peace, maybe his people would be better off.

3. Slick!
Could you use any more multi-billion dollar aid packages to help with your apartheid program, Mr. Sharon? Just pick up the phone and let us know - operators are standing by at the Democratic and Republican parties!

Those suicide attacks happen exactly because of things like this. The longer it will last the longer they will be a fact. Sadly...

12. Mr. Bush
says he is "concerned" about the increased settlement activity.
The US special envoy to monitor the road map has returned from Israel because there is nothing to monitor.
The reality is that Israel has annexed the West Bank. Government maps in Israel reflect this reality by ommitting the pre-67 demarcation line and showing the eastern border as the Jordan River.*
Any talk of a peace agreement or a two-state solution is political doublespeak and should no longer be taken seriously.
One potential solution is to divide the regions of expanded Israel into states, like the US. An electoral college type gimmick could be employed to prevent the Palestinians from gaining control of the country due to their population, while still affording them full citizenship and contol over their states within the union.
