Israeli charged over child deaths
An Israeli army officer has been charged over causing the death of four Palestinians, three of them children.

He is accused of ordering tank units to fire shells and machine guns to enforce a curfew in the West Bank town of Jenin.

It was in June of last year that the killings took place.

Israeli forces in Jenin started shooting and shelling to get civilians off the streets.

According to the indictment against the army officer, a total of 10 tank shells were fired.

7. Actually they don't.
According to today's NYT this was the ninth time in the past 3 years that the military has indicted troops for illegally using deadly force. Not ONE of these indictments has resulted in a conviction or any punishment.

9. Is this is what you are quoting?
B'Tselem, an Israeli human rights group, said this case was the ninth time in the past three years that the military had indicted troops on charges of illegally using deadly force. The cases are at various stages in Israel's military courts, and none have been resolved, the group said.

I believe your interpretation of the article is incorrect and misleading.

10. Was not quoting
the NYT, but citing it as a source. After years in the courts "none have been resolved". No conviction, no sentence. My post was factually correct.
As a reader of B'Tselems web site one can readily conclude that no-one will be convicted of illegal deadly force in the 8 previous indictments. This one may be different since the killings apparently are on video tape.
Can you cite a conviction of illegal force? If not, your original assertion that the GOI brings murderers to justice is incorrect and misleading.

From B'Tselems site, a quote on how deadly force investigations are routinely carried out:

"B'Tselem forwards to the DIP testimonies it receives regarding police brutality against Palestinians, and requests that the matter be investigated and that the offending police officers be prosecuted. In many cases, the DIP responds that the file is closed, for reasons such as "offender unknown" or "insufficient proof." At times, the DIP decides to close a file following an incomplete investigation or when the complainant was unable to reach DIP offices to give testimony because the complainant's request to enter Israel was rejected."

5. Good
The man clearly used grotesquely excessive force, and ought to live out his years in stockade pour encourager les autres.
