The Shin Bet security service and the police arrested three Israeli Arabs over the course of the last three weeks on suspicion that they planned to kidnap an Israel Defense Forces soldier, murder him and demand the release of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the body.
Indictments were filed against the three suspects, all Lod residents, at the Petah Tikva District Court.
The suspects, activists in the Islamic movement, allegedly planned to use a knife and a gun to commit the murder and then photograph the soldier and bury him. According to the indictment, the suspects then planned to give the soldier's identification card to an unknown accomplice.
