Israel's Livni cans coalition talk, will recommend election: reports
Israel's prime minister-designate Tzipi Livini has cancelled talks to form a coalition government and will instead recommend an early national election, according to Israeli radio reports.

Elections are expected to take place in February, Israel Radio and Army Radio reported Saturday.

Livni, elected last month to succeed ruling party leader Ehud Olmert, is expected to notify President Shimon Peres on Sunday.
