Israel mulls expelling Venezuelan diplomat
(CNN) -- Israel said Wednesday it may expel Venezuela's top diplomat from the country in a tit-for-tat gesture after the South American nation ordered the Israeli ambassador to leave over the increasingly bloody ground war in Gaza.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez called the Israeli army "cowards."

The decision on whether to expel Venezuela's charge d'affaires will be taken later Wednesday, said Yigal Palmor, the spokesman for the Israeli foreign ministry.

On Tuesday, Venezuela expelled Israel's ambassador to Caracas and accused Israel of attempting to carry out "genocide" against the Palestinian people.

1. It was a decison by Venezuela that has little international impact, but I do applaud them for
taking a stand...This from a fairly regular critic of Chavez

Israel's move is just what it is...Tit-for-tat

3. Why didn't Chavez take a stand last year
when the Lebanese army was leveling the Nahr al-Bared Palestinian refugee camp? Over 450 Palestinian refugees were killed and more than 30,000 displaced.

5. Agreed
They should have taken a stand.

I criticize Chavez because on some levels he's as big a fraud as any other politician.

He's been wrong on many issues.
This time I happen to think he's right.
