In an attempt to prevent Israeli peace activists from entering the Nablus area, the head of the Central Command of the Israeli Army, Gadi Shamni, declared Nablus a closed military zone.
The army said that that there had been several complaints by the soldiers against members of the Machsom Watch (Checkpoint Watch) organization.
The army added that this decision applies to all Israeli citizens regardless of their ideology.
The decision was slammed by the Human Rights Organization “Yish Din”. The group said that only totalitarian countries bar human rights organizations from entering areas of conflict between the military and the civilian population. http://www.imemc.org/article/60652In addition from Maan more going on in the Nablus area
Settlers burn Palestinian fields in fourth day of violence
Bethlehem – Ma’an – Israeli settlers threw stones, blocked roads, and set fire to Palestinian farmland in the fourth straight day of violence they say is in reaction to their government's decision to dismantle a handful of unauthorized outposts.
According to Israeli media reports, Israel’s Civil Administration alerted Palestinian firefighters to the blaze, which was set near the West Bank city of Nablus. The fire was reportedly extinguished and no one was injured.
Settlers also returned to the sites of two outposts that were earlier dismantled, Maoz Esther and Ramat Migron, and erected two new outposts close by
The violence began on Sunday when settlers began a campaign against the planned removal of unsanctioned outposts. Six Palestinian men were hospitalized in Nablus when settlers brutally beat them. On Tuesday a Palestinian teenager stabbed an Israeli soldier at a military checkpoint in an apparent reaction to the attacks.http://www.maannews.net/en/index.php?opr=ShowDetails&ID=38289
