Israeli occupation heading for 'disaster'
Jerusalem - Four former heads of the Israeli Shin Beth interior security services warned in interviews published on Friday of the "disastrous" consequences of Israel's continued occupation of the Palestinian territories.

In the interviews with the top-selling daily Yediot Aharonot, the four men accused the successive Israeli governments of carrying a large part of the blame for the Israeli-Palestinian deadlock and called for dismantling Jewish settlements.

"We are heading straight to disaster if we do not give up Greater Israel," said Avraham Shalom in reference to the expansionist project of a far-right fringe in Israel who wants the Jewish state to stretch from the Mediterranean to the Jordan river, including the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

2. Sometimes I think
the far right (in the US as well as Israel) is interested only in continuous war and upheaval. Demanding a Greater Israel plays right into the hands of those who want to crush the Jewish State entirely. They can say, "See, we were right-they aren't interested in compromise, they wish to destroy us. So we must destroy them first." And the right-wing 'Christian' whackos in this country cheer the whole thing on because they think it will bring on the Rapture. The 'rapture' they get might not be what they anticipate.

3. And aren't those RW "Christian" whackos
the one that see the Jews converting to Christianity in the end? So much for "supporting"...

7. Oh really
Who would have thought.

How about we US citizens send Israel more bulldozers, tanks, guns, and keep writing checks to pay for the occupation and settlement growth? Yeah that'll help.

Then, while the IDF is busy murdering innocent people, bulldozing homes and stealing land, we'll turn our backs on Israel's victims and write books about how poor little Israel is so mistreated and unfairly portrayed in the media.

8. It wouldn't be a bad idea if the US would
annex both Israel and the occupied territories and have our 51st and 52nd state.
