IDF chief in West Bank: Palestinian woman didn't die from inhaling tear gas
The IDF's commander in the West Bank, Brig. Gen. Nitzan Alon, refuted Friday the Palestinian claims that a Bil'in woman died as a result of inhaling tear gas at an anti-separation fence protest last week, saying she died of other medical complications.

Nitzan said that over the past week, the Israel Defense Forces' initial conjecture that it was not the tear gas that had killed 36-year-old Jawaher Abu Rahmah has strengthened.

"She most probably died as a result of other complications, combined with problems in the medical care she received at the Palestinian hospital," Nitzan said.

2. Palestinian lives do not matter to the Israelis. That much has been obvious for decades.
This woman is just another piece of collateral damage that they care nothing about.

Bil'in protester dies after inhaling tear gas

RAMALLAH (Ma’an) – A Palestinian woman died Saturday morning after suffering intense tear-gas inhalation during an anti-wall rally in Bil’in on Friday, medics said.

Palestinian medical sources in Ramallah said 36-year-old Jawahir Abu Rahmah, from Bil’in, died at Ramallah medical compound. Abu Rahmah inhaled large amounts of tear gas fired by Israeli forces who forcibly dispersed a non-violent rally protesting the separation wall.

The local popular committee said doctors fought through the night to save Abu Rahmah's life. She was diagnosed as suffering from poisoning caused by the active ingredient in the tear-gas, and did not respond to treatment, the committee said in a statement.

If someone has a bad heart, and someone else strikes that person and they die as a result, the law calls it homicide even though the death certificate reads cardiac infarction.

Female protester killed by Israeli tear gas in Bil’in

Jawaher Abu Rahmah, 36, was evacuated to the Ramallah hospital yesterday after inhaling massive amounts of tear-gas during the weekly protest in Bil’in, and died of poisoning this morning. Abu Rahmah was the sister of Bassem Abu Rahmah who was also killed during a peaceful protest in Bil’in on April 17th, 2010.

Doctors at the Ramallah hospital fought for Jawaher Abu Rahmah’s life all night at the Ramallah Hospital, but were unable to save her life. Abu Rahmah suffered from severe asphyxiation caused by tear-gas inhalation yesterday in Bil’in, and was evacuated to the Ramallah hospital unconscious. She was diagnosed as suffering from poisoning caused by the active ingredient in the tear-gas, and did not respond to treatment.

Jawaher Abu Rahmah was the sister of Bil’in activist, Bassem Abu Rahmah, who was shot dead with a high velocity tear-gas projectile during a demonstration in the village on April 17th, 2009. See here for a video of his shooting.

A good reason why the IDF shoots at people with cameras - they want people to listen to their lies rather than see for themselves what is going on.

4. Israel's Latest Attempt to Blame Dead Victim Fails
Edited on Fri Jan-07-11 03:33 PM by azurnoir
The death of a 36-year-old woman, Jawahar Abu Rahmah, at a protest against the route of Israel's "separation wall" in the West Bank village of Bil'in last Friday, is deeply troubling on many counts.

Abu Rahmah died at the hands of the IDF simply because she was standing in the general vicinity of the protesters when the soldiers started shooting off tear gas.

Almost as bad, the Israeli authorities intentionally set out to lie about the circumstances of Abu Rahmah's death. The IDF both lied to journalists and then actually enlisted a group of bloggers to spread the story that she died of natural causes (asthma or cancer), and that her supposed killing by soldiers firing tear gas was some sort of Palestinian stunt.

eta it should be noted IDF has thrown lots of changing 'flak' at this some of we see here on this board, while the story from the Palestinian side remains stable

5. ...according to MJ Rosenberg - blogger
This is from Ha'aretz, not the rantings of a blogger in the US.

7. If a person dies from from asthma or heart failure after being attacked with
tear gas, it's still homicide, even if the death certificate doesn't read "tear gas."

If you believe anything, literally anything, that an IDF spokesperson says your criminally gullible.
