Report: Dozens of Palestinians arrested in connection to Itamar murders
Dozens of Palestinians were arrested and given DNA tests in the West Bank town of Awarta in connection to the recent murder of five family members in the nearby settlement of Itamar, Ma'an News Agency reported on Tuesday.

Earlier this month, suspected terrorists entered the West Bank settlement of Itamar and murdered Udi and Ruth Fogel, along with three of their young children, including their three-month-old baby, before fleeing the scene.

Ma'an reported that among those arrested was the deputy mayor of Awarta and two of his brothers.

Awarta Mayor Qays Awwad told Ma'an that more than 40 Awarta residents were taken to an Israeli military base, where they were fingerprinted and underwent DNA testing

4. No.
It is the case where 5 members of one Jewish settler family in the West Bank, including the parents, two children, and a small baby, were murdered. But possibly you knew that?

10. Well, this thread is about one particular atrocity
Which is horrific in itself, and cannot be justified or trivialized by any other atrocities.

7. This reminds me of Casablanca
"Round up the usual suspects!"

40 people?

Another day in the life of occupied Palestine.

8. this is not a 'first' the village of Awarta was placed under curfew for days
immediately after the murders, during which dozens of villagers were questioned and the citizens were not allowed to leave their homes while Israeli citizens presumably from Itamar vandalized the village under the watchful eye of IDF, then last week IDF placed the village under curfew again for a day or so to question some journalist, what makes this noteable is the collection of DNA evidence.
At this point it appears Israeli investigations have come up largely empty handed and I would imagine that there is considerable pressure to arrest and charge someone
